The Port of Gibraltar will be participating in the 25th edition of the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention, the international exhibition and conference recognised as the leading cruise industry event which opens today at the Miami Beach Convention Centre, in Florida. The event consists of 4 days of conference and exhibition with over 1000 companies from 100 different countries represented. The Gibraltar delegation will be headed by Peter Hall, Captain of the Port and Albert Poggio, Director of the London Office, who will be attending to fulfil a pre-arranged programme of meetings organised by MedCruise, the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports. Accompanying them will be representatives of the Gibraltar trade including MH Bland, Parodytur and Sorek. The Port of Gibraltar will have its own stand - number 1267 - in the cruise destinations pavilion of the trade show and will also be represented as a member of the MedCruise organisation.

The Minister for Transport, with responsibility for the Port, Joe Holliday, said: "Miami is the nerve centre for world cruise operations and Seatrade is the most important business venue for this industry. Gibraltar continues to enjoy growth in the cruise market and this event offers an unrivalled platform for representatives of the Port of Gibraltar and representatives of the cruise shore excursion agents in Gibraltar to promote Gibraltar and its port."
